The Airbus mock-up facility in Toulouse has impressed our delegation currently in France led by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.

The delegation was also scheduled to inspect Air Pacific’s Airbus A330-200 overnight (Fiji time).

Details of this will be released today.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by Air Pacific chairman, Nalin Patel, managing director and chief executive, Dave Pflieger, director, Aslam Khan and the Permanent Secretary for Tourism, Elizabeth Powell.

At the Toulouse facility, the delegation was shown mocks of the various Airbus aircraft made by the European aircraft manufacturer.

This included the A330-200 ordered by Air Pacific as well as others including A320 and the super-jumbo A380.

Mr Patel, after seeing the mock commented: “We have just seen a mock of the A330-200 aircraft that we have ordered and it is fantastic for us.

“All our team at Air Pacific have done a fantastic job and we’re looking forward to inviting our first customers and indeed all our stakeholders to have an amazing experience in this new A330.”

Air Pacific’s first of the three Airbus A330-200 fleet is due to arrive in Nadi on March 19.
