Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is on his way to France to receive the new Airbus for national carrier Air Pacific.

The custom designed A330-200 plane is being built in Toulouse.

Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office Pio Tikoduadua told FBC News, the PM has stopped over in Korea for some official engagements.

“He is meeting a few people in Korea signing off on a few deals in regards to tropic woods on sale of our chips and there are few other businesses he needs to do there before he makes his way to France.”

Bainimarama also met with the Commissioner General of the Korean Coast Guard to discuss about possible cooperation in maritime and search and rescue issues.

The new airbus in France plane will make its maiden test flight next week.

It is expected to arrive in Fiji next month.
