Parliament has unanimously called on Fiji's interim government to publicly condemn the beating and torture of detainees.
A video posted online last Tuesday showed two men screaming on the ground as they were repeatedly struck with batons by members of Fiji's security forces.
Police are holding an inquiry.
The incident was condemned internationally and Labour's foreign affairs spokesman, Phil Goff, introduced a motion to Parliament today.
